I bought this watch as the first watch in my black owned watch collection. I bought it through the Instagram link with the intention of getting a second watch for free. I was presented with a discount code and no info on how to get the free watch. I entered the code. I noticed the shipping only showed one watch, so I messaged the instagram account and the attendant said they'd look into it. After the watch arrived the attendant finally got back saying that because I entered a code that invalidated the BOGO offer.
I would have readily paid the full amount to get the second watch for free, as I intended and forewent the discount code. I do not want to disparage a black owned company. The watch would have been worth the discounted price of the BOGO. Alone the watch doesn't really justify the price I paid. The watch that arrived didn't have any paperwork or instructions. The watch did look like the watch on Instagram, and is esthetically pleasing. I wish I had received the second watch and that the presentation and experience merited the honor of being the first in this collection. I own an Omega, Hamiltons, Gruens, Tudor, and many other collectible watches. I want Seventeenth to rate higher for reasons beyond just a decent looking watch. I wanted the experience to be better.
